Call for Silent Auction Items
Gents - as I mentioned in an earlier email
regarding the costs for our 40th Reunion, we are
attempting to offset the costs by holding a Silent
Auction on Friday evening.
Sandy and Marja Sandberg, the Activity Bosses for
this event, assisted by Deb Rose, are in the active
"collection" stage for items to include that which would
help generate some cost offsetting revenue.
Suggestions include, but are not limited to:
·
For those of you in the B&B or restaurant
business, or who know of someone in the business, fine
dining experiences or weekend getaways at romantic,
historical, or wild destinations, are always popular.
·
For those in other lines of business, such as
craft, gift, art, hardware or other shops, or who know
someone who is, may be willing to provide a suitable
item for inclusion, any donations are encouraged and
will be cheerfully accepted.
·
Anyone who personally produces works of art, or
other products, may be willing to donate time and/or
samples.
·
Want to give away one of those extra weeks at
the time share, or how about a week at your "cabin" at
the shore or in the mountains?
Here's a great way to share it
with a Classmate.
·
One can even donate Golf Lessons, Flying
Lessons, Skiing Lessons, Airline Flight Coupons & miles,
Gift Cards, or even blank checks!
·
Army
or Navy Parkas, B-robes, Blue USNA Bedspreads, or other
nostalgia inducing memorabilia are welcome, of course,
BUT ONLY IF they are in excellent condition (Sandy says,
"please, no old pairs of "grease black shoes", smashed
Midn hats, or moth-eaten blankets, etc!!).
·
Not sure if we can accept any AK-47 War
Souvenirs, Liberty remembrances, or the like, but, then
again, why not? (as long as they have been
demilitarized!! :-))
Anyway, I think you all get the picture.
PLEASE contact Sandy Sandberg at
jim.sandberg@1969.usna.com
to arrange for delivery of your contribution.
Be creative, be generous, be part of the fun!!
Non Sibi,
Steve
