Class of '69 Chapel Project - Status Update as of 1/12/09

It gives me great pleasure to share with you, on behalf of our President Mike Michaelis and your Board of Directors, the attached letter received today from Office of the Under Secretary of the Navy. 

We were also informed by the USNA Foundation on Friday that the work for the Class of 1969 Chapel Project is finally under contract with execution to commence within the next few weeks.  The estimated completion date for the effort, to include pew removal and refurbishment, floor refinishing, kneeler repair/replacement, and exterior door refinishing is Fall of 2009.  We anticipate a significant portion of the effort, if not all of it, will be completed by the time we convene for our 40th Reunion 29 Oct - 1 Nov 2009, during which time the Academy and Alumni Association plan to unveil a plaque in the Chapel recognizing the Class of 1969 for our leadership role in the Chapel Project.
